Mission

The Forward Deployed Engineer role exists because of a gap: powerful AI models on one side, the messy reality of how sales teams actually work on the other. You close that gap.

You embed with our customers, from fast-growing startups to enterprises like Porsche and Bosch, to understand how their revenue teams really operate. You configure and extend Demodesk on top of their stack: custom AI agents via our Agent Builder, CRM automations across Salesforce, HubSpot, and Pipedrive, integrations through our API, Make, and custom scripts. Sometimes you build something that goes straight into our product roadmap. Sometimes you build a one-off that saves a deal.
You are part researcher, part builder, part translator between how sales teams work today and what our platform should become next. You sit upstream of the product: what you learn in the field directly shapes what engineering builds.

Goals

  • Lead technical discovery, pilots, and proof-of-concepts as the primary technical voice in front of prospects and customers
  • Design and build custom AI agents, skills, and automations on the Demodesk platform for specific customer workflows
  • Build integrations with customer systems: CRMs, dialers, telephony providers, internal tools, via our public API, webhooks, and automation platforms
  • Own technical onboarding for strategic accounts, from architecture through go-live
  • Handle security and compliance conversations: GDPR, works councils, data residency (our EU-native setup is a strength; you make it tangible)
  • Feed field learnings back to product and engineering, and prototype features that become part of the core platform

Your profile

What you bring
  • 3+ years in software engineering, solutions engineering, or a forward-deployed role at a B2B software company
  • Full-stack depth: you can configure, debug, and explain web applications, REST APIs, webhooks, and integration patterns, and script in Python or TypeScript
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs: prompting, agent frameworks, or building AI-powered workflows
  • Confidence leading technical conversations with both engineers and non-technical sales leaders
  • Comfort with ambiguity: you scope, plan, and push work over the finish line without a spec
  • Fluent German and English (many of our customers are in the DACH region)
Nice to have
  • Experience with CRM ecosystems (Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive) and their APIs
  • Experience at an early-stage or high-growth startup
  • Prior customer-facing engineering work: sales engineering, professional services, or technical consulting

Demodesk is building the world's first intelligent online meeting tool with the vision to enable anyone to have great customer conversations. Web conferencing tools that are being used today are purely functional. They hardly offer anything beyond video calling and local desktop sharing. In a time where almost all companies build web-based software, it's needlessly complicated to route screen sharing through local desktops still. And even though AI and NLP are slowly upgrading call recording, vendors are still having a hard time making sense of sales conversations at scale and tracking meaningful data.

We have developed a new approach to screen sharing. Traditional tools only record a video of the presenter's local desktop screen. We set up a 100% web-based virtual display instead, that anyone can access by just clicking a link. By utilizing a virtual display, our software can automatically load the right presentation content at the meeting start, provide real-time conversational guidance on the sales rep's side without the customer seeing it and have significantly more data to analyze than existing tools.
